Alaskan Innerpassage Cruise.for crew of Great Escape

JoAnn and I with friends went on the Island Princes and left our "Great Escape" at home in St. Louis Mo.  Alaska is home to glaciers and wilderness and much natural beauty.
Moving into our cabin was a pleasent supprise as the cabin was of decent size with a desk and balcony.

 View from the balcony

desk with phone to order room service 24 hrs. a day with no tipping permitted.

11:30 PM Seems it never gets dark here as sunset was 1/2 hr ago and sunrise is at 3:30AM

Heading up the innerpassage (protected water route)

Picture of a VanCouver marina in which I counted 5 pilot house Bayliners like ours.  A veryt common boat up here.  Made me a little homesick for our "Great Escape"  Looks like our boat in center.

A "float plane" trip in Juneau is an essential in my book.  The massive glaciers are seen best this way and contrary to what we are told, most of them are growing.  When they break at the edges and form icebergs thats due to growth.

Iceberg as seen from our balcony with a seal hitching a ride.

Taku glacier.  The fellow standing in center of pic is holding a 8ft stick to scare off the bears as we get reaty to make our way back to the float plane.
JoAnn and me posing with the "River Bill" bumper sticker (our favorite website to visit.) along side our ship.
