"Cheeseburger In Paradise"???

Many places claim to be the place where Jimmy wrote the song.  A few we've researched are:  Foxy's on Jost Van Dyke,  LuLu's Jimmy's sisters place on the intercoastal water way.  Cabbage key, and the most credable in our opinion Queedo's on Cane Garden Bay BVI.   Some day history will record Jimmy Buffet as one of the great philosophical poets of our time!    "The ocean has always been a slave to my soul...the best thing for a cut or abrasion was to go swimming in salt water.  Later down the road of life, I made the discovery that salt water was also good for the mental abrasions one inevitably aquires on land"...Jimmy Buffett

Lets "Lock thru" ..been thru a lock and dam lately??

Waiting your turn can be time consuming as pleasure crafts are not first on the list.  When the horn blows and you get the green light you carefully pull in.  Then tie up to a "floating bollard" on the wall of the lock.  Then the lockmaster closes the big doors and fills the chamber to the top if your going up strean.  (or if going down stream he lets the water drop to the level of the river below the dam)  Then the big doors open and you leave carefully. But not until he blows  the horn that is so loud that it scares you even though you know its comming.  The "first mate"  JoAnn's job is to make sure the boat is tied to the bolard while the captian's job is to get the boat close to the dirty slimy wall.

Alright ,  Have you ever wondered where Santa Clause was going on a wave runner in the Mississippi river in July???  Yes if you were on Iowa Island or just cruising and saw Santa go flying by , on a SeaDoo, there's a good chance he was heading for Anchor Yanker Island.

Take the grandkids to Alton Marina

Taking the grandkids to Alton on "Great Escape" is a wonderful experience in learning how to trash a boat in 3 easy lessons.  The glass of wine on the flybridge is a definite reliefe after finding out that no one under 14 yrs age is allowed in the hot tub.  We loved every minet of the trip and stay at the marina. We had a horrible storm one night, complete with the sirens going off and lightning hitting the Alton bridge.
