Life on a boat.

JoAnn and me at the dock at welcome home party after bringing Great Escape home to her new birth
Daughter Karen at upper helm, enjoying ride. Karen joined us at Hoppes marina in Kimswick Mo on the Mississippi River for the final day of cruising home.  Almost home with two locks to go.

Lower helm crossing Gulf (looking for first site of land!)  A boat is like a motor home but without wheels

New friend picked up at Tarpon Springs

Almost home with our "new to us" boat

JoAnn''s pic crossing Lake Okeechobee to get from east coast of Fla. to west coast.

Great Escape at Sailfish Marina in Palm Beach
Pilothouse  (lower helm is nice when weather is cold or rainy)
Robin and our friend ( neighbor on dock six at Port Charles Harbor ), Donna Smith in Galley

Sunsets are great

Me in saloon
planning next day.  You need some space to yourself occasionally when living aboard a boat.

Grandson Jon in saloon ready to eat shrimp and "king neptune salad" for lunch

Great Escape at dock on Lake Worth Fla.
Master stateroom In bow of the Great Escape.  We have two more bedrooms for guests that are smaller.

JoAnn and me,  and in the backround Great Escape at Sailfish Marina Palm Beach Fla.  This  pic is at the end of the first day of traveling on our "new to us" boat a 1997, "4788 pilothouse Bayliner".  Bayliner is like the Chevrolet of boats.  Dependable but not glitsy, but affordable!  At this point we were very satisfied with our purchase in Ft. Lauderdale Fla. and still are. These pics were taken on way home . Guests aboard were Doug and Donna Smith,  Daughter Robin, grandson Jon, and daughter Karen with JoAnn and myself. In the Blogs to follow we will show more details and pics of the 3 month liveaboard trip. I hope they will be entertaining.  Stay dry and keep the pointy end into the wind.
